S'hope with Seagate?
Feb. 13th, 2009 03:18 pmIn December my big o' Maxtor drive died. Under warranty. I sent it back to the tune of $10. I got a replacement. It last 10 days.
I went to the Seagate site and filed a case saying I wanted them to pay the $10 this time. That was on January 25. I got an email saying I'd hear back in 24 hours. In 2 days, after hearing nothing I sent them an email. The next week, after no response, I sent another.
Earlier this week I checked their website and discovered all was major foobar. Ditto the phone.
Yesterday morning, the website was back. I edited my 'case' to ask politely WTF????? I waited 24 hours. Heard nothing.
Today I called. I sat on hold for 45 minutes. After I finally got my point across to the dude who answered, he promised me a prepaid shipping label and gave me an RMA number.
I got the RMA email within minutes. But, of course, no prepaid shipping label.
I waited 2 hours.
I went back to their website and signed on to chat. Only waited about 10 minutes this time. Gave 'em the case number and the RMA number and asked where the fuck my preprinted shipping label was. Jason H. said 10 mins.
And in 10 mins (well, 19 days, 6 hours and 10 mins, actually) I have my shipping label.
Now, lets see if they can produce a drive that works!
sheesh.
