Jun. 3rd, 2004 05:24 pmOk, many of you may have wondered how old you have to be before you are free from skinned knees. I don't know but I do know that it's possible at 55 years of age.
If you think this stings like a sonofabitch you are 100% correct.
On the up side, I did not twist any ankles or break any hips and I gave it a good bounce. Any osteoporosis I may have seems to be holding off quite nicely. But is sure stings!!

Date: 2004-06-03 05:31 pm (UTC)Have a couple of drinks.
I feel as dense as a box of rocks.
Date: 2004-06-03 05:34 pm (UTC)The picture looks like the scrape definitely hurts.
Then where the box of dumb rocks comes in? I re-read twice the part about being 55. I thought "what?" Did I miss something? You look ultra young in your icon picture - I would not have said 55 at all. So I click on your info page and check the "what to know" section. I really did not know that you were let go about the same time I was. Talk about feeling dumb. Argh.
I suggest aloe for the scrape.

Date: 2004-06-03 05:59 pm (UTC)Aloe would be great but I don't have any... BUT, your suggestion had me going to the drawer of medical stuff and I found some cream for scrapes and burns. Good idea!
Ice would have been a great excuse. I think I pretty much tripped over thin air.

Date: 2004-06-03 06:04 pm (UTC)Hope the cream takes the sting away!

Date: 2004-06-03 07:43 pm (UTC)Poor dear. Hope it heals fast. You need a good long spray of Bactine! Wonder if they still make that?

Date: 2004-06-03 09:52 pm (UTC)uffda!
FWIW, Bactine is still on the market.:) As is my mother's all-time favorite owie cure-all mercurochrome. Ya know, the reddish-orange stuff that doesn't sting like iodine? The cool part is that it's now available without the red coloring--mercuroclear! That stuff is da bomb for taking the sting out of paper cuts and hang nails.
Re: uffda!
Date: 2004-06-04 06:46 am (UTC)I do think I might invest in some insurance Bactine.

Date: 2004-06-04 04:21 pm (UTC)I'll betcha that house was on Mercer Island which is spitting distance from right here! I did not know House Hunters did any place other than southern CA. I'm going to have to start watching it again!!
I'm so glad you are back.

Date: 2004-06-04 06:27 pm (UTC)And I was right. It was Mercer Island. And the housing there is very expensive. The joke about Mercer Island is that when economics are tough, sometimes to save money they have to cancel valet parking at the high school.
