Mom's Norton Anti-Virus subscription expires this month. I've re-subscribed in the past over VPN with no problems. Those days, as it turns out, are way over. After several tries and much pain, I finally figured out that we can no longer resubscribe that now she has to upgrade. Ok, but is that easy? NO. The Symantec website doesn't like her credit card number. I won't even go into the next painful steps.

Finally I ordered 2004 from another vendor and am having it mailed to her. I'll then hire someone to go install it or walk her through it. I need this shit after a 10 hour day fighting the software at work. GRRRR

Oh and then I get home and according to the local evening news, I have ovarian cancer. I have all of the symptoms they listed. They didn't mention how much time I have left. Hope it's enough to get Mom protected against computer viruses for at least another year.

And, Roger Clemens is pitching against the Mariners. Last year, every time we got close to him, we had to hear all about how it was going to be his last time pitching in this ballpark, last time pitching in in that ballpark, last time pitching against the Mariners, last time pitching in this pair of underpants. I was SICK of it. Then the sonofabitch didn't even retire.

So, tonight we go through it all again.

And, while I'm bitching and moaning, I would just like to say, for the record, not everyone thought he was our most beloved and revered president and I'm really tired of hearing that everyone did.

Every president that will die from now until the demise of the US will be seen as "the most beloved" hell when Nixon died they said "well, he wasn't that bad". It is natural, for not wanting to be disrespectful.

I just watch DVDs and watch HBO all week. ;)

Before you die, I need to ask a question. Where do you get the clipart you use? I remember you saying you had found a great place to get them, but that was quite a while back and would take a lot of searching and I'm pretty lazy.

Sorry about the dying and all.

Thanks. Don't feel like it's something that you just have to take care of before you pass on, though.

MS has a good free collection in their office gallery site, but digging out other good free collections takes a while.

The stuff about Reagan (often referred to as Ronnie Ray Gun in the UK for his Star Wars stuff) reminds me of the way everyone discovered they loved Dianna Princess of Wales when she died. The week before she was that blond tart who's doing the Arab who's dad virtually stole Harrods. The newspapers were responsible for a lot of both sides of that little love/hate thing.

On the other hand, this particular president could at least squeeze out more than three words at a go, so he wasn't endlessly tiring to listen to.

Then again he was responsible for the crackdown on the college protests, didn't that end in soldiers shooting students? Sorry I was a long long way away at the time and had troubles of my own, like learning to read and write properly (still trying).

Anyway, when I was in Britain recently they referred to this sort of thing as Recreational Mourning.

But didn't he become president? The co-star that is. Well they look similar when, frequently, confused.

This has not been my favorite president, but then Tony Blaire is actually my fault and George is 'your' guy.
