Bits and Bytes
Jun. 16th, 2004 04:42 pmMy brother dropped his Treo and lost the use of the letter P... He was bummed. We both carry insurance that we can use to replace the hardware if we lose it or break it, but it means doing without for a day or two... not fun. So this afternoon he stopped by the Sprint store to see if they could do something about the P and some of the other hinky stuff happening since the drop and they replaced the darned thing on the spot! Gave him a new Treo. He's doing the happy dance. We also both use the same backup software and he's backing up now. I'll be interested to hear how the restore goes since I've been afraid to test it myself.

I bought my bus card for July today. The bus card buying place - aka Metro - is smack in between my house and my bus stop. Couldn't be handier. As I passed by today, I noticed that the normally really long line was missing so I popped in and asked all kinds of questions and discovered that it's very simple and easy and costs me $72. It was a nice little gravy train that Microsoft provided before and I appreciated it.

It's getting a little warm. This could be the weekend I set up the air conditioner. I did it on June 21 in 2002 and June 6 in 2003 (it got really hot really early last year) so I think between the weather and the calendar, the time has come.

And that is all my fascinating news. The Mariner game is on in 20 minutes. The Brewers ate our lunch last night. I wish we could play Montreal some more.
