I got the place cooled down enough last night to turn off the air conditioner and get by with only the ceiling fan. Good sleeping and work didn't call. I'm ahead so far.
I need to add my latest jigsaw puzzles to the puzzle pages on my website. The collection is taking up quite a bit of space and has now pushed me over my limit on that web host. I have another, cheaper host service that I use so I looked into getting more space there. I currently pay $45 a year for 400MBs. I notice they are now selling packages of 850 MBs for $55 a year. So I wrote and asked what was the best deal they could cut me for giving me more space. They wrote back that within the next 60-90 days they will be retooling current customer accounts with new storage so I'll have 850MBs at no extra charge! I can handle that... If you are looking for a hosting company, Total Choice Hosting is sure a good one.
Meanwhile, they popped an extra 100 MB's into my account so I could move the puzzles in the meantime. I guess there's no excuse for not doing it now! I'm going to do a little revamping of the pages and add the new puzzles in probably this morning. If I were smart, I'd pop the photos and the puzzle exe's into a database and have the pages built that way. But, I it's too hot.
Costco at 9:30 and here's my list:
bacon
sausage links
mayo (only if they have the sqeeze bottles)
steaks
pork?
ice cream?
body wash
dishwasher soap
toilet paper
chapstick
That's the plan...

Date: 2004-06-19 01:33 pm (UTC)Hey, thanks, Susan! I have been looking off and on and hadn't found a good one at such a low price. After wandering their site, I think I may use them. The only downside I see is that they don't allow shell access, but I can live with that.

Date: 2004-06-19 03:55 pm (UTC)On shell access, I have been a Unix CLI guy for decades, so I still think in terms of shell access. Before I retired, but after I no longer managed the sysadmins for our engineering network, the then head sysadmin discovered that I still had root shell access and reluctantly took it away from me. He said, quite legitimately, that he couldn't let me keep it when he denied it to his boss. I only used it to make changes that I would otherwise have had to call the sysadmins to make, but still....
