Happy Saturday!
Aug. 8th, 2009 08:09 amIt's another marvelously cool, sunless day. And it makes me want to hit the streets! After this entry, I think I'm going to get up (out of bed) and slap on my walking shoes and go outside and play. I'm thinking a bus run to the other side of town and an amble home from there - stopping for breakfast maybe at Pike Place Market.
Travis is playing a game with his invisible friend. It appears to be some sort of Hide and Seek versus 100 Yard Dash thing. I wonder what his invisible friend's name is.
faecat has given me a task for today. When I rip my books to MP3, my ripper gives me an easy, automated way to change the file name of every track, so I can name them, title-author-cd#-track#. Perfect. EXCEPT, my Zen Player does not use file names to identify files. So a 10 CD book ends up with 10 Track 04's. Not so user friendly. I keep track of my books using playlists which I create on the PC where I can see the filenames but if I lose my place, I'm in a world o' hurt on the player.
Anyway
faecat mentions that the field I need to affect is called ID3 and so today I'm on the hunt. I never knew what to call it before so now that I know, it may be an easy find. My own ripping software may be able to do it. (It does a whole lot of things I am clueless about.)
I picked up 3 new books from the library yesterday for ripping. Good place to start.
I also picked up movies as well. So far my Netflix-free project is humming. I'm keeping my movie list in a Google Docs spreadsheet. I've found about 80% of what I want to watch at the library. And I think renting the rest from Amazon is still going to be cheaper than Netflix.
Oh here comes Travis again. I thought his game was over but looks like that was just half time. Whacky cat.
