As the cold turns

I felt like crap last night but I actually slept pretty well which surprised me.  I woke up a couple of times and thought 'hmmm I'm sleeping pretty well!'  This morning, I have a cough.  It's one of those really really annoying coughs - annoying to me and annoying to anyone within earshot. Not a cough up your lung cough but I can barely draw a breath without a cough.  I have to keep drinking stuff... I could float away from the water I've consumed alone.  However, I do not think this is fatal.

What actually will be fatal is if my nose starts one of those non-stop runs.  I have a nice supply of Puffs here but not enough to last the day if the nose starts.  A runny nose with only toilet paper and napkins is truly cause for hari kari.  So far... so good though. Not running yet.

When I got into work this morning, my email came in fine.  One website I checked didn't work.  My gmail was fussy.  And then... no LJ!  Ok, this is not good.  I checked the status to learn that we've called the FBI for LJ.  Wow.  And the rest was just network funkiness, I guess. And then I got to LJ so all was better. The networks here at work can be flakey even on a good day.

I've been doing QA on a new site that another group is launching at noon today so I'd better get back to it.  Cough... cough...

Yah. I got one of those cough/colds when I got back from vacation a couple of months ago. Turns out I never got a runny nose, just the chest congestion, cough, and my voice went two octaves lower for a week or two. I didn't really start to get better til I hung it up for a few days and stayed home.
