Nice full day
Sep. 5th, 2009 05:39 pmI got up early and got caught up with the work work. It turns out that that may be the end of it until Tuesday. So... Amira wasn't here yet and I was getting annoyed for really no reason. So I decided to go ahead with Plan Sushi.
I gathered my stuff and grabbed a rain coat and headed out. I got to the bus stop and was on my phone firing up the 'when will the bus get here' software, when the bus showed up. I got to Fremont before the restaurant opened so I wandered around and looked at stuff. It's a very colorful neighborhood with lots to see. But the stupid sun was out so it was hot and I finally had enough and by now the place was open.
It's amazing! The food comes by on little plates, clearly labeled and you grab what you want. It's fun and entertaining and the food was delicious. And the cute waiter guy told me they are opening one up downtown!
It was too hot to walk home so I figured I'd catch the bus. But, when I got out, the sun was gone and there was a lovely breeze so I headed out on foot. It is a lot longer when you are walking than when you are driving in the car. After about a mile and a half, maybe two miles, I had had it. And there was a bus stop. So I got on the bus and came home. Still a great adventure.
While I was out I wondered if Amira showed up. And finally thought to check the webcam on my phone and there she was!!
So I got home to a clean, sweet smelling house.
But, a dead computer. The bedroom computer has been ailing for a while. And finally today it died. I'm going to get my brother to see if he can fix it but I've had my eye on that EEE 900HD so I got in the car and headed out for Best Buy. I looked at a Toshiba tablet (too big) and a Toshiba netbook (really pretty but still too big and more money than I wanted to shell out). I looked at a Sony and it was nice but I'm nervous about Sony PC's.
Finally I asked a sales guy if they had the 900HD and discovered that they will not until tomorrow when it goes on sale and is in their flyer. Some sweet talkin' (the old girl's still got it) and I walked out of there with one. The machine and the extra memory came to $330.67 which I thought was an excellent price. It's the perfect size and really chock full of features and NOT chock full of bloatware. I'm happy.
Key Bank sent me yet another debit card. I need to investigate.
