My day so far ... in pieces
Jul. 9th, 2004 01:38 pmI wish I could figure out why Semagic forgets what font I set.
My vocabulary word for the day is mardy.
melodysk reported this morning that Stephen was mardy. I had no idea what in the world she meant but looked it up and 1) I'm sure Stephen will get over it and 2) it sounds way too nice a word for what it means. I don't think I'm going to use it a lot but at least now I know what it means.
I cannot imagine how frustrating life would be without Google. Back in the olden days when I first figured out the fun of web surfing, I loved Alta-Vista (this was when the Google inventors were still trying to decide what to make out of their legos in pre-school) because I could type in Susan as a search term and my own web page would pop up every time. There just weren't any other Susans yet. It was very cool. And yes I was then and am now very easily amused.
This morning when I pulled out my $2 to pay on the bus, the bus driver (our regular) said 'what happen to your card?' and I said 'can you believe... I lost it.' and she said 'well, don't pay! you already did. remind me on Monday, too, k?' How cool is that?
My taste buds are still we have a cold. For that matter, my lungs are, too. But everyone is gradually giving up the germ ghost. I am, however, going to give the old taste buds a kick in the bud this evening. I called my wonderful deli and asked him to save me a General Tso's Chicken. He said he would. I hope he actually saves one. The last time, his helper, trying to offer the best in customer service, cooked me up a fresh batch. It wasn't nearly as good as the stuff the sweet old ladies make for lunch. So I hope, today, he just takes one of the lunch meals and sticks it into the fridge.
