My fingernails are getting so long that an accidental stab could be fatal.  I need to cut them down a bit or register them as weapons.  I used to want long, long nails so that I could paint them and be glamorous (like Dolly Parton not Barbra).  Now all I need is enough to scratch a bug bite if I get one.  But, I look at the length as a sign of health.  Somehow I got the idea that strong, healthy looking fingernails are a sign of general health.  I have no idea if it is even true.  But long nails are handy for catching those crumbs that fall in the keyboard before they disappear.

Laundry is laundrying and the dishes are washing.

We're coming up on what promise to be some hot days.  We had those hot hot ones early on but otherwise have been pretty lucky this year.  Here we are in mid-July and I've only had to have the air conditioning on one week.  I think I can make it from here.  I can see September's cool up ahead.  So a few hot days won't kill me.

My sister, the drama queen around whom the world revolves, is going to take her three daughters and visit my Mom in August.  Mom is paying for the whole thing.  She's paying for it in cash and in aggravation.  My sister cannot accomplish anything without a maximum amount of fuss and bother.  And involving everyone and everything in her drama is required.  My only involvement is reading Mom's emails reporting the various chapters.  Daddy was very big on gathering everyone together as often as possible.  Mom, fortunately, does not share this desire.  I have no desire to get anywhere near my sister and/or any of her side effects.

Today's Mariner loss starts at noon.

It's strange and distinctly pleasant that summer in San Francisco results in overcast and cool sea breezes. Yesterday morning at 11 it was still 62F. But on the down side we won't see significant rain much before Christmas. I miss the summer rains.

Long healthy nails are definitely a sign of general health. There are plenty of diseases that show themselves through the skin and nails (not just generalized skin diseases like psoriasis, but also lung and liver disease, metabolic diseases and infections).

So you're right.

...the drama queen around whom the world revolves...

*laughing* Bingo!! I should have used that phrase when describing my stepdaughter. People like that are so annoying.

It's a trade-off. Ray The Man is the most wonderful, special, perfect man in the wide world. I can endure a little silliness from his daughter once in a while in exchange for HIM.

Weird... I thought I was the only Treasure Valley resident to read this journal. Howdy. And yes, the weather has been GORGEOUS lately.

What a delightful turn of phrase.
