Milestones - analog and digital
Oct. 27th, 2009 09:43 amI got a love letter from Acer today that if I so desired, I could send my laptop back so they can fix a microphone cord insulation issue that might happen. Thanks, Acer, but no thanks. You could, however, send that Windows 7 upgrade you promised. Just sayin'...
I'm trying to remember to exercise the Acer battery at least once a week - unplug it and let it run down to 15% or so. But, it's not easy. The damn battery lasts forever. I unplugged it an hour ago and it says I have 6 hours and 42 minutes left. Nice. I have no clue if this kind of battery exercise is even needed on this kind of battery. Batteries have always mystified me. Periodically, I'll gather the data and look it up and it always gives me brain freeze. Just like dollar cost averaging does.

Comcast pulled the digital plug here last night. My TiVo without the digital card now only gets channels up to 30. My other TiVo has a cable card and so gets all the channels except the premiums. This is fine for now, I think, and when it's not, I'll call Comcast and get it a cable card, too. I'm grateful that they left me 29 channels. This means my bedroom TV is still perfectly functional with only the cable out of the wall.
---
For the second night in a row, I woke up cold. Love that. It means it's time to swap out the light quilt for the down comforter. I did. Stuffed that sucker into the duvet cover and tonight will be toasty. I have two favorite duvet covers and both are getting a little thread bare. Another item for the When the Ship Comes In list... fortunately, the size I use is twin which is the cheapest.

Time to head over to the gym, I think...
