Just found a new program on BBC America - Manchild. It's a rather hilarious view of 4 men who are 50 years of age and rediscovering life and it's pretty funny. They had four episodes back to back and I TIVO'd them last week and just watched them all. I definately want more. It looks like an episode a week.

Date: 2002-08-05 07:00 am (UTC)You probably know this but on our tv, programs run for a season (usually fall to spring) and then take the summer off until they start again in the fall. So during the summer we get to see the episodes we've already seen or really horrible shows they made on the cheap to fill in the slots. It's pretty dismal.
BBC America is a help. Although I don't understand some of the colloquial references and in some of the situation comedies it's hard to get some of the dialogue, it's still better than the crap they would have us watch on mainstream tv.

Date: 2002-08-05 10:54 am (UTC)Here in the UK , Summer TV is a bit of a joke too , the new programmes or series begin in September ..and from about June until then we have general yukkiness on the tube. At the moment I am really getting into Six Feet Under ...love it! Also liked the 1st series of Scrubs. Have gone off Will and Grace however ...love Charmed as it is sooo corny. Buffy and Angel are faves as well :)
If there are ever any colloquialisms you want explaining just holler! Sometimes the US progs mention names of folk that mean nothing to me :)

I once had to send a guy in Auckland some JuJuBees after Elaine mentioned them for the 47th time on Seinfeld and he just couldn't stand not knowing what she was talking about.
