Well, the scarey remote is going back where it came from. After much fucking around, I finally got it to work only to discover that it has built in delays that make even a simple channel change very painful. Straw, camel, broken back. Send me and RMA number, thank you very much.

My old fashioned Sony VL 900 will just have to learn a new device. It doesn't like to learn new stuff but tough shit. That's just the way it's going to have to be. I have spoken.

I've tried several universal remotes, including learning remotes. They range in price from $14 to $85. I've also used a couple of programs that allow one to turn their PDA in to a learning remote. In the end, I've found I'm happier just having the four factory remotes sitting by my easy chair.

Life's too short, right?

But if you're like me, you're also getting more impatient as you grow older . .

And more forgetfull, and more cantancerous and . oh that's enough of that!

i'm secretly glad this didn't work out

because i have two sony rm-av3000's that i have yet to completely program and if this thing you bought was easily usable then i'd have to put them in a box and hide them somewhere.
