I was sitting there flip flopping between I-can-live-with-this-it's-all-in-the-attitude and don't-be-stupid-go-buy-another-one-no-matter-what-it-takes.  And, I thought - well, you know, I could just turn the fan on and blow air around.

So I got up and turned it on and turned it to cool - just to test - and I GOT COOL!!!  Chilled Air!!  It's working again!!!!

Maybe it just wanted to rest.  Or some love.  Or was threatened by the replacement thoughts.  Who knows?  Why cares?  I have cool air....  Whew!

I'm going to be much more judicious in using it from here on out.  And I'm going to kiss it every time it works.

Ahhhhhhhhhh

One of my friends in Chicago has a dead central air system and they want a couple of thousand to replace it. I found a 'tempting' resource on-line.
Air conditioners (http://www.everythinghome.com/aircoheandhu.html?ref=googleadws&kw=portable+air+conditioner)

Ok, so it's the next *day* and I think I can get away with this now... ;-)

I'm sure it's nothing that you don't already know, however. :-)

Enjoy!

Yes, you have to take care of your air conditioner. I listen for it cycling on and off. If it runs for 30 minutes straight I turn it off. If "Bessie" starts to act up, then it's the carrot or the stick! :)
