This and That
Jul. 31st, 2004 09:36 amThe FedEx guy came but his only package was for someone else in the building. It doesn't look like I'm going to see my Discover card today. Crap. I tried calling Discover to see if I could get a FedEx tracking number. I plugged in my account number (the one they closed yesterday) and my social security number and was immediately transferred to a voice recording saying that I had reached the Security department which was closed until Monday. I feel very secure now.
[update: While the FedEx guy didn't have it, the DHL guy did! And just delivered it.

<IMG src="http://susandennis.org/lj/bars/flurline.gif" ?>
My brother was clicking around the favorites on Mom's computer and hit on my book page. He sent me an email that he'd always meant to sign up for the mailing list and never did until today.
But, I didn't receive anything from him... I went over to the page and looked at the email link and duh... When I changed servers - 6 months ago???? - I totally forgot to set up an email account for the book pages. So anyone who has clicked on that email link in the past six months has not only NOT been added to the list, they never heard squat about it. I am an idiot.
I set up a new email account for the books and fixed the links on both book pages - Book lists by year and All The Books Database Page. I am so pissed that I screwed that up. Geesh.

<IMG src="http://susandennis.org/lj/bars/flurline.gif" ?>
Mom is, apparently, doing fine. Bill sent email from her room (he's got a Treo, too) and all is well. She now has the biggest room on the floor and is happy happy. Chicken sandwich and soup. (Picture guy, bored to death, sitting in hospital room while his very chatty wife entertains Mom... what you get is a lot of bulleted emails via Treo.)

<IMG src="http://susandennis.org/lj/bars/flurline.gif" ?>
Albertson's is supposed to be here between 10 and 11:30. I always add a caveat to my order that if they do not have the Diet Dr. Pepper, to cancel the order so I never know for sure. One of the reasons I order from them for delivery (besides it's so friggin luxurious) is that none of the stores around here carry big enough supplies of Diet Dr. Pepper in 2 liter bottles. I can sometimes find 6 bottles but usually not that many. When I order from Albertson's, I get 24 bottles - I like having a supply.

<IMG src="http://susandennis.org/lj/bars/flurline.gif" ?>
I need to do the windows update thing. I hate it when they make me reboot which happens about half the time but you never know going in whether or not you will. Rebooting is a major pain in the ass - actually getting everything set back up the way I like it is. Crap - this one needs a reboot. GRRRRRR At least it gives me the option. I chose to do it later. Thanks.

<IMG src="http://susandennis.org/lj/bars/flurline.gif" ?>

It's a hot day today... at least so far.
