Building manager, Scott, put up a very clear and informative memo in the elevator saying that today and tomorrow the surfaces of both elevators would be refinished and then coated with a very smelly protective coat. So one of the two will be unavailable each day.
In between work jobs (yes, I have work! not a lot but hey...), I whipped up a batch of cheese/egg quiche muffins and popped them into the oven. And then I began to smell something way not muffin-y. It smelled like the oven, itself, was burning. I thought Fuck. The damn oven is broken. I've used the thing for what 10 times in 4 years and now it's heading South???!!! Finally, the smell got so bad, I got up to survey the damage.
OH THANK GOD! It's the elevator. The oven is fine and muffins smell great! I'm such a loser sometimes.
I am still doing eye experiments. I think the more I use the readers, the more I need the readers. So I'm trying not to use them unless necessary. So far so good. I used them for a solid hour working this morning and when I took them off, my eyes were locked into that focus and I could not see the computer. 15 minutes later they were fully readjusted and I could see the computer fine.
But, there are moments... like when I opened my electric bill and it was $80 fucking dollars for January! What the hell???? I slipped the readers on and got an instant discount of $20. Why did the inventors of numbers make so many that look alike??
