One battle down?
Feb. 16th, 2010 12:59 pmMy friend, Arlene, sent me an IM that she had - from a tax supervisor at USAA - an address for me to send the tax money reimbursement to. She said she'd send details in an email but I haven't seen them yet. But, if, indeed, I can get that monkey off my back - Yahoo!!
Today, they posted the tax numbers for the year. In this county, you can pay half in April and half in October. BUT... if I pay half now, and XYZ mortgage company hijacks my invoice before I pay the second half, I'm right back where I started. So I paid the whole year's bill today. I hope, hope, hope this takes care of it.
Of course, now my rainy day funds are reaching some sad levels. And my income tax bill may dry them up all together. But, at least I had the money to get it all done. And, come October, I'll be way happy not to have to pay that bill!

My stupid neighbor kept me awake last night. I hate, hate, hate being the bitchy neighbor. And I'm sorry he cannot figure out how to grill outside without making my home stinky. I got an email from Jeff the lawyer/board president today saying he had talked to the landlord this morning and "We will look into it to try and come up with a solution." Can't ask for much more than that. Jeff is really an exceptional guy.

A wonderful knitter on Ravelry found a couple of typos in my bear pattern and was kind enough to let me know. They were not consequential but I was glad to hear that someone with a good eye had tried it out. I fixed the typos and while I was fiddling with the page and the pdf, I checked the logs to see if there had been much traffic. Oh yeah, baby! Plus several free knitting pattern places have already found it and linked it up. Cool. Doing the pattern is a pain in the knitting needles but knowing that people might be able to find and use it makes that all better.
