Bits and bites to start the day
Aug. 10th, 2004 08:13 amMom is, apparently, doing okdokey. Her emails have been one-liners so far but I got a nice detailed one from Dana this morning. She says that Mom has to have injections twice a day but that she (Dana) can do them. (She used to give herself allergy shots so it's a no brainer and Mom likes it because it means she doesn't have to have a nurse there ever 12 hours.) She has to have her blood checked every morning and she's tethered to oxygen.
But, Dana, reports, the most important thing is that at 1 p.m. today - she's getting her hair washed and blow dried.
Thankgod for Dana and of course, 3,000/3/thankyoujesus!

In other news... today I can finally transfer money - online - between my American Express Financial accounts and my 1st Tech Credit Union accounts. This morning I did a transfer from 1st Tech to AE Money Market. To test. The 1st Tech thing isn't live yet - but it will be in a couple of hours - and I'm hoping that it will enable me to move money from AE to 1st Tech.
For years now the only way to do this has been by check via snail mail and I've managed - actually, it just means that I rarely use the Money Market account. I'd like to use it more to keep cash out of my easy grasp but as easily grabbed in the case of emergency. I'm anxious to test and see if what they say is what they mean...

It is so hot again. Last night I had to get out the mister and rain on myself so the ceiling fan would cool me off. It looks like it should start maybe cooling down a little today and every day and maybe we'll even have a decent weekend. I noticed last night that it is getting dark way earlier.

Sherry and Lee came by last night with goodies. Brownies with no icing - the way god intended. A thank you for a computer rescue I did for Sherry a while back. And big fat tomatoes from Lee's Mom's garden. While I love home grown tomatoes with a passion, Lee and Sherry think I'm doing them a favor by taking them off their hands. Lee's Mom plants a huge garden every year and then forces them to take home bags of tomatoes every day. They are so happy to have someone to give them to. And I am so looking forward to my tomato sandwich for dinner - polished off with brownies and ice cream. Yum. It's now 8:06 a.m. and I'm lusting after dinner. This should solve the mystery of how my ass got to be so big...

Date: 2004-08-10 09:28 am (UTC)I understand this very well. Homegrown tomatoes come in huge quantities if they come at all.
(Ours have been very slow to ripen this year.)
