Whata strange day. I also remembered that some of the regulars were not at the bus this morning. This afternoon when I rounded the corner at the stop, where I usually first see the crowd waiting there was one lone guy - a regular but all by himself. I asked him where everybody was and he said he didn't know and that there were a lot missing from his morning bus, too. Strange.

And not as cool as promised BUT the sky is beautiful. Bright blue with these amazing clouds. It's not hot and so I really can't complain.

Oh, wait, yes I can.... where in the fuck are my Crocs!!! I thought for sure they would be here today. They were mailed from Texas last Wednesday. I think the mail people must have tossed them out of the truck and made them walk. Geesh.

Oh and I finally got a detailed report from my brother on Mom and all is good. The staff at place where she lives -
Bishop Gasden - is really stepping up to the plate in a big way. They have not done so before because, well, Mom didn't need it. Now she does and they have lots of very very competent hands that she's in now.

One thing they already have done is take over her medications. She takes a basicillion pills and they are all on different schedules and some have to have food and some don't. I've long marveled at her ability to keep them all straight. She devotes about an hour every week to getting them all organized. Well, now the pharmacy there is taking over. She will get daily pill packs with instructions written on each pack - which one to take when and how. She told my brother that she was now in a little bit of stress over what in the hell she was going to do with that extra hour every week.

She probably will be able to go back to her apartment for at least a few months anyway. In a couple of weeks.

Mariners game is at 7.

When I took the bus, I too really had that sense of normalcy being influenced by 'the regulars'. Like if they weren't there everything was strange. I remember when we got caught in traffic or floods -- this was years ago before everyone and their dogs had cellphones -- and I ended up lending everyone my phone to make calls about coming in late and they wanted to pay me and I was like "Oh no, Nokia's happy to have you make your call." I thought it was the best promotion ever.
