Waiting for Chef Tom

The freezer is nearly empty and so are these containers... By the end of the day, all of these will be stuffed. I like the glass containers because I can nuke 'em or bake 'em and they behave quite nicely in the dishwasher. The plastic stuff gets out of control in the dishwasher and is so not bakable.

Tom usually gets here about 9:30ish... but his ish has a wide swing. Once he got here at 8:30 and once at 10:15.

He's not a detail guy. And he always forgets something - usually one thing and it's something he really needs.Never fails. Invariably he'll promise to make it tonight at home and bring it or - like last time he forgot the menu - I'll put it in the mail tomorrow. I've learned that while I have no doubt he intends to follow through on these promises, he will not so I just say , That's ok, never mind. He's not a detail guy.

He's not a computer guy. He often takes a week to answer an email and never remembers to answer every question. He does not know how to view photos or send them and can't copy and paste. He's not a computer guy.

But, the guy can cook. He puts up with my fetishes and my cats and he's nice and easy to have around. But, mainly he can cook. Yum. Today looks like it's going to be on the far side of ish. It's already passed 9:30. This is absolutely fine today. I have a conference call from 2:30-3 and I really need him to not be finishing up during that time. I think we're now a safe bet for an after 3 finish.

All is fine and good.

Betty is favoring the old fish house today - she was in there when I got up this morning and is in there still. Travis is here pestering the bejesus out of me. It's all fine.
