Down time is winding down...
Jun. 21st, 2010 03:59 pmMy bug queue is getting stuffed - as each comes in my work laptop gives off a little chirp. Usually when it chirps, I get to work but these chirps can't be attended to until tomorrow so I just jump a little. It's great to have the work. I'm ready. I've enjoyed the down time but I'm ready to get back on the horse.
I did spend a bit of time today futzing with my user pic. I got tired of the hat number and used the front facing camera on my phone to come up with one that is still not Susan Saranden which is who I'd rather look like) but will work for now. Someone needs to create a web service that provides you photo to a whole list of services so I don't have to go to a million places to change it. Go!
Chef Tom has left a house full of yumicity. We are thinking that more visits with less food per visit will work better. My freezer isn't big enough and I don't have enough glass containers (or places to stash them) and I do get kind of tired of some of the repetitiveness of the meals. Baked spaghetti 3 times a week is just too many times a week. Baked spaghetti once every week and a half is perfect. We're going to move towards that...
I do love love love having him cook for me. He totally 'gets' me and my food loves and wants.
In other good news... My 4 am start time tomorrow got moved to 6 am. So I get to sleep in! And I only have to go to 2. So I think I might just make a rare afternoon gym appearance tomorrow. I cannot afford to skip any more days - other than Monday. I am running out of stamina again and yesterday I had to walk up a steep hill and it was just not that good.
That hill was in Tacoma.
machupicchu and I went to a concert - the Seattle Men's Chorus and Women's Chorus. It was at the Pantages Theater which is not only an old and very well preserved/restored theater, it is tiny. We were in the nosebleed seats (which were not cheap) and they were on a fairly scary incline. The choruses were cut in half because the stage was so small. All in all, not that satisfactory experience. I'm really glad we went - we will know to do that again :)
And I got to indulge my jones for Red Lobster on the way home. Matthew is such a sport. His vegitarianitis is not Red Lobster friendly or vice versa but he was a trouper and roundly rewarded with some really delicious cheese and herb biscuits. And my lobster did not suck one bit. It was good.
He is kind enough to do all the driving as well. Oh and it rained like a sonofabitch on the way down there so my car got a free car wash. And while we were gone the Mariners won! They are currently enjoying a season high 4 game winning streak!!
I've got a little bit of work work this afternoon and then an evening of junk TV and bear knitting.
