So... a while back, I happened to be chatting in the hallway with Scott, the building manager and Jeff, the Homeowners Association prez. I can't remember what we were chatting about, but in the course of the conversation, Scott revealed that Peter (guy down the hall, see next graph) had complained about my door being open all the time. Scott said that Peter said that it made him feel like he was living in a dorm. Which is apparently a feeling he doesn't like. Jeff said 'oh for the heavens sake, fuck Peter' and we all laughed.

I wrote about this (with Peter details) last February when it happened.

Today I get an email from Michaela - We pay Michaela's company to run our association, the building and the rest of it. She is not overqualified. Her email today says that someone has reported me in violation for letting the cats out in the hallway repeatedly.

As it happens, on Saturday, I went to a building salvage place and got a very nice 4 foot high "gate". They could jump over it but they won't. Betty knocked it down yesterday but then I figured out a way so she couldn't do that again.

So I wrote back that the problem had been fixed and I asked who reported me. I knew it was Peter but I wanted her to tell me. She wrote back thanking me for the fix.

Now, when I filed a complaint against the stinky cooker downstairs, they appealed and she clearly had no qualms about telling them who complained so this morning - on the treadmill - I replied again "Do I need to file an appeal to find out who file the complaint?"

She came back immediately saying it was unit #420 which is Peter. And adding that the complainant was allergic to cats.

Hilarious since Peter really doesn't give a shit about the cats - they have been in the hallway since the day he moved in years ago. His wife is one of the main reasons they like to go out in the hallway because she coaxes them out to play with them.

Poor Peter. There's no rule against door open. So he loses.

Peter teaches violin lessons in his unit and you can clearly hear his lessons in the hallway. Ron (who lives 2 doors down from him) says Peter's neighbor bitches about the screeching but he's rarely home.

I think we're not even close to the end of Peter Drama.
