Pride Conflict

I just saw the LJ pride banner. Nice.
So the plan was to do my usual bus to the other side of town and brunch and then walk leisurely through town and stop and watch the parade until it got too hot and then come home.
But the Mariners fucked up my plan.
See, last year, during Spring Training, I discovered this guy - Russell Branyon. He was nice and quite and no body paid any attention to him but he kept stepping up to home plate and hitting home runs. When we got into the season he still got very little recognition and no love except from me and, after I convinced her, my friend, Ann. Over the Winter, the Marines 'could not come to terms' with him and let him go. To Cleveland.
I may have mentioned a couple of times that this year the Mariners suck. When it gets to the end of June and your team suck, you usually start selling off anything good you got and acquiring kids you can maybe grow into stars next year. But the Mariners in one extremely curious move, last night bought back Russell Branyon!!! And he's playing with them today!!! And the game is at 11.
So, no Pride Parade for me. But, I did walk along the first third of the route and got to see them gathering and setting up. You just have to love Pride Paraders. I saw not one but several tents with raised floors and stylish furniture, set up and ready for watching. I saw one with two levels and white danish modern leather sofas.
The weather is perfect for it. Not fry your ass hot and no rain. I hope it's wildly successful and everyone has a ball.
