The rest of the day

susandennisI heard from Mom's social worker... She ain't near ready to go back to her apartment. The social worker is sounding like there is a very big If Ever involved. Mom needs to be a lot stronger and she is apparently not cooperating with her rehab therapist... or paying attention to the nutritionist... Then Mom calls to say that she talked to the same woman tonight who led her to believe she'll be ready to go back to her apartment probably this weekend. ARUGH. I feel like I'm bopping gophers here.
On the up side, this morning Mom asked me to find out who she could talk to about what she needed to do to go home. So I sent a note to the social worker asking her to ask all of her various caregivers to be especially careful when talking to her and make sure that she really understood what they were saying.
Tonight when she called she said "I don't know what you told them but whatever it was worked perfectly!!" So, at least she's happy.
I just saw a story on the evening news about a guy who robbed a bank brandishing a pitch fork in Aiken, South Carolina. Once in my long and jaded career, I was a newspaper reporter in Aiken, South Carolina. Even back then there was never a shortage of oddball news stories. Nice to see that some things never change.
Tonight's Mariner loss will be against Cleveland. Starts at 7 with a 30 minute interruption at 7:30 for the Ken Jennings Show. I saw a spoiler about the end of his Jeopardy run. It was totally unsubstantiated and I'm taking it with a large grain of salt for $200, Alex.

Date: 2004-09-09 07:38 am (UTC)I was shocked - there's a *spoiler* article on cnn.com that clearly states they do not know if he's lost for sure or not and are merely picking up an article that was from the AP. I'm taking it with a large grain of salt too...but man....that bites if they hoaxed us! Grrrr....
