Here are the words that are not going to escape from my lips again:
  • Awesome!
  • You Rock!
  • Sweet! (unless someone asks 'sour or sweet?' And then I'll probaby go with 'not sour')
And, yes, this is a direct result of my across the hall neighbors at work. Karen and I have decided that these these expressions are the quickest way to prove missing brain cells.

For my own sanity, I need to prove that this side of the hall is at least thinking. So no more
  • Awesome!
  • You Rock!
  • Sweet!
From me...

This post is messed up. My brain just can't wrap around it today. Do you wanna fix it? It's easier to read on your comment page than on my friends page, where it puts both a verticle and horizontal scroll bar. In any case, I thought you might wish to know.

Here's an embarrassing confession:

When I worked as a "traveling clinician" for lindamood-bell learning systems in the summer of 98, at one point I was working with some young people on "following directions". I told one young man to walk to the blackboard, pick up the chalk, and write "Judy is incredible" or something like that.

He went to the board and wrote "Judy is da bomb".

I had no idea what that meant! Imagine my having to ask.

I do like that explanation!

It was here in LJ that I first heard of the phrase "my bad" (have you added that yet???). I turned against it the moment I saw it. Now, of course, even my roomie uses it.

I am so glad that you brought this up.

I always wonder where these things originate? A movie?

I'm still trying to figure out who started saying

"YES!"

Hearing "my bad" turns me loose. Ugh.

"Awesome" I can tolerate.

But I really would like to know the origin of "Sweet"
and "Yes." Any ideas?

I have found myself using 'Awesome!' a lot.

I think it makes me sound straighter, which scares me.

Since you've never met [livejournal.com profile] fj you probably have no idea how delicious this image is.

I don't mind "awesome" if it's not overused (as if), but the spelling "awsum" makes me want to throw things.
