Mom is on her way back to the nursing wing. I hadn't heard anything from her today and I could tell she hadn't checked her email. I finally called about 11:30 her time and got Polly who said that she was going back. She has debilitating hand tremors. She can't get the oxygen stuff figured out. There is another hurricane on the way. And then Polly said 'plus she fell again last night' with this I get Mom protesting in the background that she only fell 'a little bit'...

I was able to find out from Polly that Mom is fine with the whole thing. At one time while she was still there last time she said it would be way too depressing to go home and then have to come back but apparently she's over that.

Polly gave me all this information about the cardiologist and pacemaker settings and stuff that just went over my head. She said 'now write this down' which I did, but that and a dime... Anyway, Mom has an appointment with the cardiologist on October 5 and I'm thinking that she'll be in staying in the nursing wing until then at least.

At least she has a good place to go and good people to take care of her and she's not unhappy about any of it.

Meanwhile we have really really thick fog here today and it's now just after 9 and it's still really thick. Everytime I pass a window I do a doubletake.

I watched LAX last night and it didn't suck as much as I thought it would. I didn't cancel the Season Pass. I watched the first episode of the last season of NYPD Blue. I really like that show but maybe last season would have been a good one to have ended with.

And Rodney. It's a sit come that I have heard zippo about and had recorded. It's on Tuesdays just before NYPD. I watched it last night and enjoyed the heck out of it! I never seen any of the main actors before -the script was tight and funny - I laughed out loud several times. It will probably be canceled soon so watch it while it's still around.

And after days and days of nearly all my stocks tanking, today they are perking up! Of my 9 companies only Amazon and Ebay are down a little (less than 1%) as of right now and the rest are up!! Of course it is only noon in the US stock trading land - there is still plenty of time for them to take a nice dive.

Do you like fog as much as I do? I know Seattle is so near to the sea that you must get far more fog than we do but I love it. SO ethereal ..it can make the most mundane of things look special

I do like the fog but you know what? We don't have that much - in the winter we get some but not that much. Today was very unusual - especially to have it last that long. I should have just blown off work for a bit and grabbed some photos.... Next time?

We're sticking with NYPD Blue (for the moment, anyway), even though I think it ran its course some time ago. jwg pointed out to me that the new lieutenant is right; these guys don't really do their job very well.

Speaking of shows that have run their course but that we're still watching: ER. Maybe they'll finally manage to kill off the whole cast.

Excellent point about the new boss. There were just too many things that didn't work in that episode.

But, I'm right with you on ER. I haven't watched last night's episode but I have a hard time thinking of a scenario that would put me off that show completely.

It's funny how I have such tolerance for crap in some shows and none in others.
