Ahhh Saturday
Sep. 25th, 2004 07:50 amI'm back to my morning calls to Mom but this morning was fun. She was very chipper. Between Polly and the medical people there at the 'home', they got the cardiologist to agree to reduce some of whatever it is they have her on and it made her feel nearly instantly better. She says she has spent most of the morning with her hands held up waiting for them to start shaking and they haven't yet. And she feels good. But, I also think she's glad to be back where she doesn't have to worry about what happens if the 'feels good' changes suddenly.
She had already seen on TV that we beat Texas last night. We not only beat them, we tortured them. The 9 inning game went on for nearly 4 hours and the lead swapped back and forth until the last few innings when it was tied. We got the winning run in the top of the 9th. Texas was trying to get a spot in the playoffs. So it wasn't very nice. But, also, this is a team that injures fans. We have two more games with them this weekend and three next weekend. The Mariners might want to consider body armor.
Tomorrow is the first Seahawks home game of the season. They are kind of on a winning streak left over from last year. That should ratchet up the neighborhood activity. So today is it if I want to get out of the house and go anywhere in the car.
After my haircut (which is a block from here), my plans are a trip to Costco. The house really needs a good cleaning. I need to at least give it a once over - and there's laundry. Just your usual, nice, weekend here...

Date: 2004-09-25 12:46 pm (UTC)This is the kind of game with which Baltimore has been torturing the Red Sox recently (even when the Sox win, it's much more painful than necessary). So I kind of feel the Rangers' pain (without particularly sympathizing, if you know what I mean).
But, also, this is a team that injures fans.
That was just bizarre. It's not likely to happen with their home fans, however.
