There was nobody on the roads and nobody in stores. It was kind of weird. Finally, at the grocery store, I asked the cashier where everyone was and she said they were home nursing their hangovers and they would be out later and pissed... I cracked up.

So I was able to get everything done I wanted to do easily and efficiently. Then I was hungry and near one of my favorite places to eat so headed there, turned the corner and it was gone. Closed. The end of Mr. Bill's. Sigh.

On down to another favorite that I know will close this year - Cindy's House of Pancakes. It's a low scale 2 eggs over easy place but they have great counter seats and a fish tank to watch and today the service was impeccable.

I rode up the ramp to the north-south through city expressway for the last time and coming home, rode its down ramp. I will truly miss them - they offer views that no one else does - like seeing into the apartments in the triangle building... Tomorrow they start tearing down the ramps. Sigh.

Then, once home, in truly anal fashion, I got out everything I want to take on my trip to see how close I am to the goal of being able to stuff it all in a backpack. I think I'm there. It's an ample backpack (with wheels). I'm flying Southwest and they do not charge for checked baggage but I'd rather not. I like having minimal stuff and I like having my hands on it.

Now I am going to try to watch The IT Crowd (Season 4). Netflix kept erroring out on it last night. It played other stuff just fine, but not The IT Crowd. Grrrrr.

Oh! Just now I got a sweet email from Southwest reminding me that my trip is soon and giving me all the links I need. Now, isn't that nice of them??
