susandennisMy neighbors who watched over and entertained my cats while I was gone had asked if they could bring a DVD and watch it while they cat-played and I said 'sure!'. I wrote out instructions on how to turn on and use the DVD player and the two TiVos and I did such a good job of it that they were able to easily get their movie going.
The problem turned out to be, however, the temperature. I don't use the heat here. I never have. It's plenty warm enough for me and if it gets too chilly with a sweater and a lap blanket, I'll fire up a log in the fireplace. I have a heated hall on the front, two condos on either side, one below and one above - and a shit load of machines going at all times in here. It's nice and comfortable for me.
Ann and Ron are from southern California and are in their 70s and keep their unit way too warm.
So, apparently, they watched half the movie and left and came back only for very short visits and feeding. They could not figure out how to turn on the heat (The thermostat and on/off switch is behind a photograph.)
I will be so glad when I get old and cold and have to use the heater.
