Now that I know that FedEx Express and Home are the non-deliverers and FedEx Ground always brings the goods, I ask before I order. I ordered last week because the vendor said that they use FedEx Ground. On Saturday FedEx Home tried to deliver their package. Called me and left a message on my machine and a door tag.

I signed the door tag and left it on the door. This afternoon, no door tag and no phone call and no package. Déjà vu vu. Only this time I have no tracking number either. I forgot to copy it down Saturday. I've sent a note off to the vendor requesting it. Man, I'm tired of this song.

My brother and Trey got home to Jacksonville a bit ago (I got email). Their house is fine and their dogs are fine and the hurricane is gone. Whew.

I haven't talked to Mom today. She was getting her hair done this morning and Bill and Trey were there until noon and this afternoon got away from me and she's not answering her phone now (maybe at dinner?).

I did finally remember to look up my Delta frequent flyer miles and their upgrade allowance and determine that I have barely enough for a trip and won't likely be using them for that, I have plenty to upgrade to first class when I go see Mom at Thanksgiving. So I called today since their website (which is pretty darned complete for everything else) does not have a way to upgrade using miles. I waited on hold forever. Then I finally got a person and explained what I wanted and got put back on hold for forever x 2. When she finally came back she said that my fare made me ineligible for an upgrade. I must have paid at least $1,300 for my flight (within the U.S.) in order to upgrade using my miles. I laughed out loud for a while and thanked her for the information and hung up.

I am so not a good traveler - there's just nothing that I like about it. Nothing. I wasn't always this way but I sure am now.

I do a lot of work that involves shipping, both sending and receiving. And its been my experience that Fed Ex is almost always a pain in the ass and more trouble than they are worth. On the other hand, I never have had problems with UPS, and only one problem with the USPS (several years ago when I shipped a package, the USPS apparently mistook their bin labeled "outgoing" with the one labeled "Superduper trash compacter"). These days, the only time I use Fed Ex is if someone simply will not ship to me any other method, and then I try to find someone else to buy the item from first.

FedEx Home Delivery

I too had the pleasure of being misguided by FedEx Home. They tried to deliver a package yesterday at 9:00am, and unfortunately I was not home to sign for the package. I decided to make sure to be here the next day (taking the day off work), so I could receive the package before the Christmas holidays (present for my mother).

After waiting the entire day I called FedEx and they told me, "don't worry you will receive your package today it could take until 10pm). I thought well at least their is still a chance. 10 minutes later I checked the online tracking to my dismay it stated "Not available for delivery." I guess the driver either tried to deliver to the wrong address or called it quits for the night.

I now have to pick-up the package 25 miles from house and pray I can give my mother her Christmas present on-time. Oh well so much for paying for shipping. Lesson learned ship UPS! If the supplier does not offer this option find someone else and pay more (It's worth it)!!!!! Hope this helps someone learn from another's misfortune.

Happy Holidays!

Hmm, I keep forgetting that I use a United card most of the time. I wonder if all these air miles are actually worth anything to me? Apparently I've got around 20,000.

Traveling used to be a treat. Now it is a nighmare and you are at the airlines mercy.

What happened to the customer being right?

I don't fly any more because I am tired of being treated like cattle.
