Weirdest Spam ever
Jan. 16th, 2011 05:00 pmLJ comment spam has increased fairly significantly lately. Not unmanageably but there is lots more of it than say this time last year. If I wanted to prevent it, I could turn off anonymous comments (although, a fair amount of the spam comments come from LJ user accounts) but I have some very very nice commenterrs who do not have accounts and I don't want to lock them out. I just delete the spam comments and report them as spam.
A couple of weeks ago, I got a comment that said:
This is the coolest website and stories that i have ever read…its useful for me as im a lecturer and always motivate my students with these publised stories…thank you …and waiting for plenty more…
I thought 'hmmm, that's lovely!'.... It was anonymous but I replied anyway.
Today, I got another comment - on an entry of a couple of weeks ago - using the same exact sentence.
Weird. Random Acts of Flattery?
