TV Delivery Day...
Jan. 19th, 2011 09:04 amBetween 11 and 2. Last night I had two thoughts - yep, just two.
1. Amazon has a 30 day free return on the TV. The deliverers are supposed to come in, unbox, plug in and check, and then haul away the boxes. But... do I need to have the box if I want to return?? hmmm. email to Amazon. They promised a response in 12 hours which means I should get it before the deliverers get here.
2. Truck rolls up to condo. Driver looks me up in the front door directory and calls. I buzz him in and he delivers EXCEPT... the front door directory is broken!! I hit the panic button. The deliverer is Pilot so I look up their 800 number and make a frantic phone call. The nice lady takes my cellphone number and suggests I call the local office in the morning and gives me the number. Then, I look at the 'your TV has shipped' email and there is both an email address and a local phone number in it. So I send an email and this morning I call.
On the up side, each Pilot person I talked to easily found me and my delivery in their system so I guess it's really going to happen. Yahoo. I'm ready.
And, joyfully, today is a day off for me. Working 3 days a week is really very wonderful. Not so great for the paycheck but oh so marvelous for the peace of mind. I'm very lucky to be able to afford it and to have a job that works this way. Nice.
Time to head to the gym...
