I had already paid off my Discover Card after I bought the Vizio. So I am going to have a giant credit on the card - half of which will go to this new TV. It's going to be weeks before it all gets sorted out but at least it will also be weeks before I have to pay another Discover bill.

machupicchu has a doctors appointment this afternoon and I volunteered to chauffeur him. When you don't feel good, you really don't need to be fucking with busses. That's my theory and, besides, it's my day off and the car's got gas.

Portlandia starts tonight on IFC. I can't wait. I might even watch it in real time.

Square Trade is the name of the outfit that offers up extended warranties on Amazon's TV's. Their prices seem reasonable, and reviews of their services are pretty outstanding. When I cancelled the Vizio, I asked the second (the nice one) Amazon rep whether or not I was screwed over on the extended warranty and she assured me that they would give me a refund and gave me the phone number. I was still in my Very Pissed stage. I called and got the nicest sounding guy who asked me about 2 questions and then told me he'd set up the refund immediately. And he did.
So when I bought this new TV, I bought another extended warranty from them. With one click, they now have my receipt and I can see my new TV on their website and also that the Vizio was cancelled. So very nicely efficient.

The Vizio is gone. Whew.
---
The laundry is done and folded and nearly all put away - Travis is napping on the final stack and I don't have the heart to take it out from under him.
---
It seems to me that annually, I get worried that tax documents are missing and they always get here. I have my w-2 but nothing else is here yet. I printed off a copy of the mortgage statement from the website but I suspect my CPA is going to want the real deal.
---
This business of working only 3 days a week, I suspect, will have a limited run so I am working hard to enjoy it as much as I can while I have it. So far, I am doing a great job. I love having time to do all the little crap like changing ink cartridges and dropping stuff off at the Goodwill and stopping to look up stuff whenever a silly question pops into mind... and knowing that there is more time where all that came from.
