So I'm watching the "West Coast Edition" of the NBC Evening News.... It starts off with our volcano and now they just had a little piece on Ichio. I hope whoever is in charge of PR for Seattle gets full credit.
I've been watching some TV and doing some knitting and monitoring the computer. My brother and sister-in-law have done some good work - took Mom out for cheeseburger and French fries which she really really wanted. And they found a brand new Shurgard storage place not far from Mom's and made friends iwht the owner.
I've been swapping notes with Polly about moving details - there are so many things to think about - she's doing the heavy lifting but I need to get - in writing - all the rules and regs for moving out of the apartment and all the rules and regs and pricing of moving into the assisted living place. I also need to find out if her two Long Term Care insurance policies will pay off now or just what needs to happen to collect on those puppies.
Trey, my sister-in-law, has volunteered to be in Charleston and help Mom and Polly - kind of be my hands and feet. I'm so grateful. I need to make sure Polly and Mom are ok with it but there is a lot to in a short amount of time and we need the help, I think.
Polly reminded me today that we need to buy a bed! Mom does not have a single bed (her guest room in her apartment has a pull out sofa). So many things to think about.
I talked to my brother on the phone today and I said 'I'm not sure what Mom's planning as far as the move is concerned... " And he piped in "oh, I do... She's planning on you and Polly handling it all!" Guess I am grateful that we don't have a power play in the mix.
Nearly time for the next to last Mariner baseball game of the season... Sigh.
