The emails and voicemails I launched last night have appeared to have penetrated the surface and actually maybe start to set things right.

My email had detail that I had been waiting for - finally and two appologies. I have a voice mail message at work with an apology. And a phone call (at 5:53 a.m. my time - apparently the time zone thing isn't an issue with these people, but whatever).

Everyone is now calmed down and swears and promises to provide me with all of the information I have requested and continue to keep me supplied and not assume that someone else has told me. The woman in charge of the move did give me some decent answers to my specific questions. (However, I asked her to follow that up with an email and I'm still waiting...).

Mom's new room will be ready on Friday. But she can move in whenever she likes. If she does not move in by the 22nd of October and have her stuff cleared out of the apartment by the 22nd of October then we will pay extra until she does. But, I think that's ok and I think we'll have it done by the 22nd anyway.

I told her today that she can pick her own move date. I said that I'd like her to wait until she had a bed, phone and TV but even that was her call. She was so relieved and surprised and happy with the news.

One of the hold ups, as it turns out, was that no one there had bothered to look at the original contract that Mother and Daddy signed. They did not go into this lightly and they paid a bundle up front. And they signed an iron clad contract that will mean that Mom's bills will be considerably lower (less than half, I think) than they would be without the contract and she gets full service. (I had been led to believe it was ala carte - they give you a list of services with prices and you pick what you want to pay for. But Mom's contract says she gets it all - except laundry which is something like $35 a month.)

So it's all working out fine. My sister-in-law is going up next week some time to help and my brother says he may pop up on the weekend to get the Tivo and computer set up. I think we've got this under control... She says very gratefully.

Mom is happy. When we finished talking this morning I said 'so now, what has you the most worried?' And she couldn't think of a thing. Whew.
