The phone did get here and it is a beauty... (or, I learned today, that I get special credit when I use a certain word - so... it is a JOY!)

Plus the monthly contract is about half of what I thought it was going to be. More than my current contract but only $10 more and it does way way way more and in color. It's the size of a small candy bar and weighs far less. I love it.

Today was busy busy busy. I was really surprised when I looked up and it was already 5 p.m. And I got home to another surprise. My brother sent me a book that looks really interesting and a CD of Jaques Brel is Alive and Well in Paris. This is an off Broadway play we saw, as a family, when I was in college. I was enthralled with the music and got the album and played it until the grooves wore out. I moved on.

I hadn't heard the music or thought about it in at least 30 years. My brother included a letter about how my playing the record so much really affected him and that the CD continues to be one of his favorites and he's wanted to make me a gift of it for a long time. I had no idea. I listened to it this afternoon at work while I was editing stuff and it was like a visit from an old friend. How is it that I can remember every single word of a 2 album CD of songs after 30 years and cannot remember what someone told me 30 minutes ago???

I saw the cast members perform a few songs from the Jacques Brel show on Johnny Carson one night...I went out and bought the album the next day. A great album. Odd that you mentioned it because I dug it out last week and was playing it on my stereo. Album still in pretty good shape though I could use a new stylus (a bit difficult to find any more).

That is an interesting coincidence. They are such wonderful, strong songs.

Now the other day, on my way to something else that I cannot now remember, I found two record needle/stylus pages... I know nothing about either one of them except what's on their website but you might save them for if you ever get really stylus stuck.

Thanks for the info...did find a stylus for $30 which isn't bad though I might have to find someone younger with better eye sight and a steadier hand to put it in for me if I buy one. I used to change them all the time but that was a long long time ago.

I can relate... I'm one of the few people in the world who own a sewing machine. I no longer make clothes or do any other heavy duty sewing but I do use it frequently for mending and stuff. But, somehow in the 25 some old years I've owned the sucker, that needle has not only gotten smaller, but much more difficult to reach!
