A day of foobar

I logged onto VPN this morning and connection lasted 15 minutes.
Anita comes to cook and forgets the pile o' groceries in her freezer. Goes home to get.
The 11 am publish gets pushed to 1 pm.
Meanwhile to solve VPN issues, I learn I have to go to a Microsoft office. Anita comes back, I pack up computer and go.
I get to MS office and encounter the same error. IT says I need bios update. Yeah, no. Not a day when it is critical I have my computer for 1 pm. publish. I got back home.
Send a note to my boss's IT guy asking advice. He says the version of Windows 7 that I have isn't compatible. And the version I need has no upgrade path so I need to completely reinstall Windows 7.
They do not have it for download so I need to go to their offices to get a copy and - due to the intricacies of all the requirements, I don't have enough guts to try it on my own so I have to go at a time when the IT guy is there. Probably tomorrow afternoon.
At 1 pm we got a message that the server would not be ready at 1 and they would send an update at 1:30. It's now 1:30.
My class at the gym is at 2 and I do not want to miss it. It's only 30 frickin' minutes. I'm going, regardless.
I just realized that since I got back from the MS office at about 11:30 this morning, my VPN connection has not dropped one single time.
Somebody up there is totally fucking with me.
