Sunday... early
Oct. 17th, 2004 07:43 amIt's a quiet Sunday morning here because the fucking NPR Begging Show continues so I had to turn it off at 7.
And she decided not to decide about the car until after Thanksgiving. "I'm pretty sure I don't need it, but I want to be real sure before I give it up." Good decision, I say. She seems to get more clear in her thoughts every day.

Date: 2004-10-17 09:00 am (UTC)I like Lookout instead, it's very fast as well: http://www.lookoutsoft.com/, though its integration comes through Outlook and not a web browser.

Date: 2004-10-17 09:15 am (UTC)But, I had already decided that it wasn't fair to do my work computer... and I was sorry about losing the function.
Your Lookout totally solves that problem! :)
Thanks so much.
Where do you find these gems???? You posted a type face tweaker thing a month or so ago that is wonderful and everybody at work that I showed it to thought it was great and none had ever heard of it.

Date: 2004-10-17 09:34 am (UTC)Two others I like:
- MSIE resizer. This adds context menu items for resizing Internet Explorer windows to common sizes like 640 by 480 and 1024 by 768. Handy for web page design. http://www.marmot.net/danm/2004/10/17/msiesizer.js
- Command Prompt and Fast Edit. Adds context menu items in Windows Explorer. Fast Edit is particularly handy, as it'll open any selected file in Notepad rather than its default editor.

Download both files to your PC, open them in notepad to see that they're not nasty, then double click them to run them.

Date: 2004-10-17 09:16 am (UTC)I will go there right now!! Thanks for keeping me informed.
Also, you are getting a new notebook, I think. I am jealous. Is this one better than a Dell, or is there a reason for this particular one? I will just have to lust after yours for a while, this move and my "part time" are eating up our money.
(Even though I set aside almost enough for a new laptop in my stash)
Happy Sunday!!

Date: 2004-10-17 09:36 am (UTC)Now, I have a question for you... What ISP are you using for dial up? I'm hunting for one for Mom and am probably going with ISP-West. They have a 15 day trial and I can use the new laptop to test so I'm kind of waiting for it before I sign up.

Date: 2004-10-17 01:11 pm (UTC)I am sorry she has to go back to dial-up. Hell, I'm really sorry I had to go back. Wish I could be more help.
People seem to have good luck with Earthlink.
I am just waiting for our Brighthouse Cable to get with high speed, They got set behind with all the repairs for Hurrican Ivan.
