Launch was this morning! I had written this entry just after I got back but locked it down for my eyes only. All eyes are welcome now!

-----------

I am writing this on 4/14/2011 just after I got home from my visit with decide.com. I want to capture the experience because it was so fun but I signed an NDA and we even talked about my not writing about it in Live Journal so this is a private entry until they come out from under wraps.

I had no idea what I was getting in to. I got an offer last year - just before CES - to join an organization of early adapters of technology - CEA. It was only $20 so I said sure. Decide.com - looking for consumer opinions, found me from CEA and asked me to come in for a test and chat.

Why not? So off I went this morning. Turns out they are in a bank building on the other side of downtown from me - on the same floor as the icanhazcheeseburger people which is kind of fun. They are a 20 person company in a pretty little small suite of offices and one room of developers.

Everyone I met was nice and sharp and articulate and good humored. And every one of them had a nice firm, welcoming handshake. Classy group.

We swapped backgrounds and then they showed me their website which was a compilation of information I'd looked for and never found before. When I was thinking of replacing my TV, I wondered when was good time to buy a TV. Fortunately, I wondered out loud in this journal and got answers. But their website will enable you to get specifics. Is this a good time to buy this particular model? With historical pricing trends and a recommendation - buy now or wait.

And it has a lot of other information as well. I'm quite excited about it and can't wait til they launch and I can use it.

It was a very cool experience and quite fun. They asked it I'd be willing to come back and I allowed that I'd be delighted. Then they gave me a Starbucks gift card with a thank you note signed by by all of them! I thought that was pretty darned classy, too. Oh and a little bug thing that works on battery. I need to dig that out and get it going and see if I can terrorize the cats with it.

All in all a lovely treat for my first day of break.
