A virgin computer system is so much fun.  It's fun to start from scratch.  My little mini had a fun day at work.  Now we are home and downloading some essentials.

It came with McAfee which annoyed me years ago and I am always happy to delete that off my computer.  But Symantec is now pissing me off and is up for renewal on my desk machine so I'm giving serious thought to AVG 7.0 - they have a two-fer that I might just go for.

Turns out my boss has a PCMCIA DVD drive so I'm going to take a Netflix in tomorrow and give it a try to see if that's what I want to get.  The drive operates off of  batteries or wall juice.  Could be handy.  Except it weighs about as much as the mini!

I did lock down the wireless network here.  Too embarrassing to be hanging out like I don't know any better.

NBC killed Hawaii and I really liked it.  Those creeps.

This morning Mom and I were talking about last night's baseball game.  She said that it was looking like rain in New York.  "I sure hope the game gets rained out. I think we could all use a good night's sleep!"

And, although she is right, it does not appear as if tonight will be the night.

Oh well

I was really liking Hawaii. Kelly asked me to Tivo an episode and then she didn't get around to watching it, so I watched it without her and decided to Tivo a few more episodes.

After all this baseball, it may be a few more weeks before I need to watch TV again anyway.

McAfee bothers me too. However, when the second virus got through AVG, I went back to Norton. Meh.

Our wireless is not locked down, I have no idea how to do that. However, since we live on 10 acres, and the wireless doesn't reach that far, I don't worry about it. Somebody would have to sneak onto our property, and sit in the fire ants and mosquitoes in order to use our wireless, I think.

I did not have a paid version though, I had the free version, perhaps that makes a difference. I didn't even know there was a paid version of AVG...

Well, I was thinking the same thing (if nothing else, I thought the players could really use the rest), but on balance I'm glad they played yesterday. I don't know if I could survive having this stretched out until Thursday.

Apparently so; at least as far as his offense is concerned, he basically didn't show up last night.

Our household is just the slightest bit euphoric right now, in case you were wondering.
