Strange day

Everything today seemed about a half pixel off.  I woke up enough before the alarm to catch the early bus but by the time I finished thinking about it, it was too late.  [I don't need to get in early when I'm not being paid for it and I don't want to get into that habit.] 

When I did get to the bus stop there was no one there.  I am never the first one.  About half the regulars were no shows. 

Work varied from a half pixel off to a half time zone.  All day long was just weird.

Another Boston Yankee game tonight.  I may have to turn off the sound. The announcers were really starting to piss me off and tonight I have even less patience than usual.

But I do love my little Mini.  I found an old drawing board that serves as a great lap desk.  Knitting may suffer since I can now play Bounce Out Blitz with my feet up,

The Fox announcers can certainly be annoying (as can all of Fox's silly musical interludes). Watching some of the post-game coverage on local channels, I noticed that they were showing the video images with (in the background) the Boston-area radio announcers, and I remembered that we (unlike you) have to options of turning off the TV sound and listening to Joe nad Jerry on the radio. The downside of that is that often the radio broadcast is a second or so ahead of the TV, which can be disorienting.

We may try this during the World Series, anyway. We'd still be stuck with the annoying Fox graphics, but at least I wouldn't have to listen to "Scooter".

Isn't that delay wild? We have one color guy who rotates games on the broadcasting team. He makes my spine curl and I cannot listen to him. So, when he's on TV, I mute it and listen to the radio. The time difference is sometimes way off... I see the ball go over the fence, then I hear the crowd start to roar out my window and then the radio announcer says: "fast ball over the middle... Swung on and BELTED!!!" It seems like there is a full 60 seconds between the first step and the last - it's probably closer to 30 but it's still very disconcerting.

That's funny; around here it's usually the TV that's behind. So we hear "strike over the inside corner" as the ball leaves the pitcher's hand.

Or maybe Joe and Jerry are just clairvoyant.
