I have been a news junkie for many many years. I majored in journalism and started life as a newspaper reporter. Until yesterday, I would have said that even when the reporting is horrible, I can't stand not to watch. Turns out that is not true.

After 24 solid hours of every single fucking detail of The Killing and having to listen to endless hours of reactions from fools important and not, I hit a wall and there is still no relief now that yet another 24 hours has passed. All networks - PBS and NPR included are just torturing me.

I thought I had had enough wedding news. I would kill for a 5 minute feature on what Kate and William had for breakfast this morning.

Maybe I'm just over the news all together. Maybe it's time to adopt the [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu I Never Watch Or Read The News attitude. Tonight I fast forwarded through everything not Killing related and finally got a nice piece on a woman who was shot 5 times when her restraining order didn't work. Interviews of family members.

Torture.

Edit later - I've got tons of TV to watch. I have two TiVos full of it. But, what I'm missing is some news of the day. News other than that the rehashing of every single tiny detail of The Killing. It's difficult for me to believe the world has stopped still since Sunday night. Surely there is stuff happening but how in the hell am I ever going to know?

Ok, I'm done. I've said my piece. The end.
