My neighbor Ann dropped by a minute ago so we could do a little happy dance about the firing of Milton Bradley (Mainers). While she was here, my cellphone-that-used-to-be-my-landline-number rang. I ignored it.

When she left, I decided to check voicemail. I never get any voicemail messages on that phone. Oh, wait, I see why, the voicemail is not set to the correct number. I fixed that and found 5 messages. The most fun one was from the eye doctor.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to my eye doctor appointment only to be told it was the next day. I promptly gave up on that eye doctor and figured I was good for another year. One of the voice mail messages was from the eye doctor's office. Saying they had fucked up and that my appointment was for the day and time I thought it was - the day and time I was actually there. The message went on to say that I should call and reschedule. Yeah, I hope they held their breath.

My laptop has been declared dead as in blue screen dead as in probably mother board dead. And I'm actually fine with that. I did not want anything that was on it - all the data was safely moved elsewhere because I was going to wipe it out for a fresh install of the operating system.

After using the CR-48 for a week, I determined that it ain't going to cut it as my main machine. It's fine as a backup and a temporary standing but not as a workhorse. I want a real, nice, bigger than a netbook, light as possible, Windows 7 machine. And I went with Lenovo. I got an IdeaPad U260. Clementine Orange. I developed a Lenovo jones a while back but they are so darned expensive, relatively speaking. Finally they came out with the right combo - the perfect size 12.5, 3 lbs, and pretty and everything else I wanted a Lenovo for. The battery life is not terrific but, the Lenovo with the great battery life is way more expensive and ugly.

So I will be delighted with this one.

My eight hour work day worked out ok. I do think I might try the gym for mid morning break. But otherwise it was fine. Having a 3 pm stop dangling in front of me was oh so delicious.

The Tree That I Hate is growing leaves again. Very soon my view will be totally blocked until October. I hate that tree.

Now I think I'm going to rustle up a cup o' pod coffee and finish off this purple starkly bear.
