oh Canada...

susandennisWe had a great train trip up here. It really felt more like an hour than 4. We chatted, I knitted, we tweeted and watched out the window. It was just fun and relaxing.
We took the sky train towards the hotel and then got out and walked. We were really hungry and all I could see were subways and mcdonalds. Finally we landed in a Thai place that had horrible service but wonderful food. Then we went to find Tim Horton's which turned out to be just around the corner and would have been perfect for lunch. I got a cup of coffee but we didn't want to stop and drink it and it started leaking while we were walking so I finally dumped it and saved the cup so I could roll back the rim and then lost the cup somewhere while we were walking. I need to revisit Tim's. Maybe breakfast tomorrow.
My other big Canadian thing was toothpaste. The kind of toothpaste I want is for sensitivity. You can buy it in the states but it's expensive and you need a prescription. We found a drugstore and it was on sale!! It's still expensive but I don't have to beg the dentist for a prescription and get hassled about time to have my teeth cleaned. I stocked up.
The on to the hotel. It's clearly a very old hotel. Small not so impressive lobby. Tiny elevators (but tons of them and they are fast) and very small really old rooms. But, the views are great and now that the A/C is cranking, it's really nice.

machupicchu told me but I forgot. I do know that the revolving restaurant on the roof has always been the destination for dinner and that may be why he picked the hotel.
We have early dinner reservations and the view, I know, will be beyond spectacular. And it is a beautiful day.
We have not made any plans yet for tomorrow that I know of. We have to be back at the train station about 4:30 ish.
