Getting what you wish for

susandennisI was walking home just now and it dawned on me that the kind of life I would wish for myself would be the kind where I live somewhere where I could walk through interesting places easily to meet diverse friends for Sunday brunch, and then walk home, stopping to get supplies and meeting new friends. Which is exactly what I did this morning.
We had a great brunch at a new (to me - Local 360 on 1st and Bell) place that served up delicious food and the best biscuits I've had in the western United States. Then we all went our separate ways and I stopped at Pike Place Market to pick up some fruit and was able to get in, get what I wanted and get out without having to fight the hoards of tourists.
Then a few blocks towards home, I met a perfectly delightful couple here from Australia. they were off their cruise ship for the day and so we walked and chatted and then I set them off to tour Pioneer Square and the International District and then I can home. The perfect first half of a Sunday.
I've got CBS Sunday morning to watch and other stuff to do here this afternoon. The baseball game starts at 4. And I might even do a bit of work work maybe to get a jump on the week.
