Last night and this morning local newsies warned about traffic problems. One major thoroughfare is closed. 869,896 people will be at the UW graduation. There is a sold out soccer game today. Their advice was don't get in your car.

BUT, I was going south of town. And early in the day. Not good enough. About 5 miles from my exit to home, I joined parking lot city. I got off an exit early so it wasn't horrible but I for sure am not taking that car out again.

I got everything I set out to get plus exercise. And I spent less than $60 including lunch and dinner!! Ikea had just what I wanted. I found one thing that looked interesting and was only $10 so I figured I'd pop for it but when I got to the aisle/bin they were out. Saved. Then on to Walmart. They did not have what I wanted but they did have Bisquick which was on my grocery list. Then on to Popeye's chicken where I bought way more than I needed.

I always hope when I open up the Popeye's box that this time, it won't taste good. It will be like KFC which used to be delicious but now is yuck. But every time Popeye's delights. Oh so good. Hot or cold. Fresh or old. I love the stuff and I have 8 more pieces.

When I got home I cleaned out the car. I use the car for storage lots of times. If I don't yet need the cat food or kitty litter or teddy bear stuffing, I leave it in the car until I do. So, my car is kind of trashy most of the time.

But, I have company coming. If they don't use the car while they are visiting, then at least they will be riding in it. [livejournal.com profile] rsc and [livejournal.com profile] jwg are coming in to town this week. In two weeks, my friends from New Zealand will be here and in August my brother and his wife are coming. So, it's time to move the Diet Dr. Pepper from the trunk to the kitchen.

It took 5 trips to get all the shit up the stairs (my car lives one floor below ground level in the garage) and onto a cart to get it up here. Happily, the building management keeps a garbage can in each parking bay so throwing out crap is easy.

Car is all ready.

Next on the to Do Hit Parade today is kitchen reorg. I have a drawer that is full of crap. It will be my k-cup drawer but I have to get the crap out first. I have shelves that also house crap. They will be decrapped as well. I may stop there. I may do more.

I'm starting now...
