mini-plans
Jun. 23rd, 2011 06:11 pmIt just dawned on me that Saturday is the Rock and Roll marathon.
When you share the block with two sports stadiums, you learn to watch their schedules closely and plan accordingly. Yeah, sometimes it's annoying but mostly the benefits of living here far out weigh the annoyances. I never ever have to worry about parking for a game! The Kingdome - across the street for my first 10 years here - had way too few ladies rooms and each had a permanent queue. When I went to a game or function there, if I had to pee, I usually popped across the street and used my own bathroom and was able to get back far more quickly than standing in line.
I know from past experiences that the Rock and Roll marathon hoses up the hood solidly - it's the end of the run where they have all manner of stuff set up for runners and block off all the surrounding streets. I could get out in an emergency but it's not worth the hassle. So Saturday will be a home day. Probably I'll set up the air conditioner to be ready for the hot.
----
As I type this, the Sounder fan march part I is passing on the street under my terrace. So cool and fun. The second wave - the one with the band leading the rest of the fans will go by in probably 10 mins. The benefits really do far out weigh any occasional inconvenience. Oh I hear the band in the distance... they are on their way. And they do a fancy march, too. I know because before The Tree That I Hate gets its stupid leaves I can watch. At least now I can hear them and imagine.
----
I think tomorrow after I finish work, I might make a trip to Costco.
kjazz has sharpened up my jones for a new mattress. I've worn out the costco.com website and now I'm going to the store to see what info I can suck out of them and to see the sample of the one I want.
Sunday I am going to the Pride Parade with
machupicchu. I have not been in years. Mostly because it's been too hot. A couple of years a local station aired it which was fun. This year it looks like it's going to be full sun and so probably hot but at least the temperature promises to at least hover around 70 and I think I can handle that. Plus, it's always so much fun and it is more fun with somebody to play 'omg, look at *that*!!!' with.
My plan for right now, however, is to knit my bear and watch some junk TV!
