AC in... but probably for the last year

susandennisThe race noise has escalated and then they started announcing which, I figure, is minutes away from a band or bands starting up. Meanwhile I was having trouble hearing Wait Wait on the radio. Time to get on that AC install.
Mine rolls in from a closet on the terrace. I have also have a pet door I install in the door slider. I cut out the pet door and use that space for the AC hose.
My AC is a Sharpe. It's my second one on wheels. (I don't have a window so window unit is not an option.) The first one was only mildly effective, ugly and horrendously loud. Then in 2006, I went to Costco for toilet paper and there, at the door, was a sleek looking beauty with large letters on the box that said Library Quiet!!! I got a Costco guy to help me pull it out of the box and roll it to my car and then I rolled it into my living room. And it's been Library Quiet!!! while cooling me off for all these years.
Last year the hose to the outside started to fall apart. An exact replacement was impossible to find. Well, not impossible... I found one dicey looking site that offered the hose for something like $200. I got an accordion hose close in size and screwed it over the old one. It seems to work. But I'm thinking this could be it's last year.
I need a crafty someone to come look at the entire set up and see how to make it better. But, for now, it's cooling and it's quiet in here and I'm listening to Bill Clinton on Wait Wait. All is good.
Next up is kitchen clean up. Then probably some laundry. Then I'm not sure what exactly...

Every time I set up or take down my air conditioner, I save that entry in a memories category so I can easily see what the dates are. I just looked closely and see that the record for set up is in July! 2005. Wild.
