Toe tappin'

susandennisI did not go to the gym. My foot hurt too much to put my shoe on and I just said fuck it. If I die of sloth, I die of sloth.
Over the day, however, my foot has gotten better - thankyoujesus for my wonderful gout pills. I can at least walk on it without a severe limp and having to hold on to walls. Gout really really sucks. My mother was not a complainer - especially about pain or discomfort - but she got gout once and I learned that her restraint was directly proportional to the amount of pain. It hurts. It really does.
But the stuff my cute doctor gave me does work. And pretty darned quickly so I suspect I will live to bitch again...

Yesterday was warm and muggy. Today it's back to very nice and comfortable. My two weather desktop widgets report that as of right now it is 63 degrees outside. I am grateful but to ensure I don't forget to be grateful, I also keep track of the weather at my brother's house which is right now 96 degrees and has 3 detrees to go until it hits the projected high for the day. Oh and there is a lovely breeze here today, too. Nice.

I have a list of restaurants ready for tonight so I can give my guests a choice (walk to Asian? drive to French, etc.)
Tomorrow we have a list of destinations they have requested... Best Buy 'or an electronics store you think would be fun' and Walmart. The last time they were here - about 5 years ago, they really wanted to see a Walmart. There is no Walmart in New Zealand. They only heard of it from TV and all they knew was that half of America hated it and half of America loved it and they could not figure out what the deal was. So we went and they loved it. So now they want to go back and I'm always up for a trip to Walmart.
Then we'll also probably go to Fry's since it's close and so different. And Best Buy and then maybe we'll drive around South Center (big area of giant mall with a dozen strip malls around it) and they can pick what they want. Plus they have a Penny's. He wants some Florsheim shoes and I think JC Penney's still carries them.
Should be fun.
