What's that noise??
Jul. 9th, 2011 09:54 amTravis, aka The Cat Who Probably Did It (whatever it is), was right here beside me when there was a loud boom at the front of the house. Turns out it was Fed Ex knocking (pounding, actually) on the door. I retrieved the box and was back in bed when we heard a crash at the other end of the house. This time the door piece that houses the air conditioner hose had fallen over (because I dislodged it yesterday and didn't get it back in good).
Now Travis is here, on the floor by the bed, on total WTF Alert with a little I Didn't Do It look on is face.
I'm catching up on LJ and G+. I woke up early and then spent nearly 2 hours dozing and listening to NPR. A lovely luxury.
It was cool enough to sleep inside last night so my sleeping porch did not get tested. I did realize it's fatal flaw. By 6 am, it is in full frying sunlight. If/when it gets really hot, I may just move it back inside in front of the AC. The reality is that if I never ever have to use it, I'll be thrilled. Just knowing that I have a very viable way to escape the Too Hot To Sleep problem gives me great peace.
My only plans for today is a trip to the library (to pick up The Incredibles DVD) with a stop at the market for a couple of things. I am not taking the car out - it's too hot and there are a million things tying up traffic today. The walk to the light rail and then to the library and market and back shouldn't be too bad (heat/sun wise). My plan was to get out early before real hot and be there when the library opens at 10. It's now 9:55. I think I'm already off schedule.
So here I go!
